Kim Wheeler is the new Head of Turner House at Firbank Grammar School.

Kim Wheeler is the new Head of Turner House at Firbank Grammar School. Kim has 20 years’ experience in the education sector having taught across year levels from ELC through to Year 12. As the former Deputy Head of the Junior School and IB PYP Coordinator, she has extensive experience in creating strategy in line with the School’s vision, and best practice in teacher quality, innovation and developing a thinking culture. Her training in GROWTH coaching has proven effective in supporting other teachers and area leaders. Kim has liaised with Heads of School, the Head of Curriculum and Deputy Principal to oversee curriculum review and development, establish more connected transition programs, effectively administer assessment and scholarship testing, review learning support programs, and develop targeted reporting systems and procedures. Kim has managed administration of NAPLAN, PAT and AGAT assessments and coordinated data analysis and strategic planning in year level teams to improve student achievement.  Prior to joining Toorak College, Kim was a Year 6 Coordinator at Mount Eliza North Primary School. Before this Kim taught at the American Overseas School of Rome – a prestigious IB World International School and member of the European Council of International Schools (ECIS). As Master Teacher of Curriculum and Pedagogy in a dual language program (English & Italian), Kim’s role was to develop a cutting edge, innovative curriculum for international students. She orchestrated the application, alignment and implementation of this curriculum through the Primary School in a creative and inclusive manner.
