Sophie Morell is the new Chief Executive Officer for the Committee for Gippsland Inc.

Sophie Morell is the new Chief Executive Officer for the Committee for Gippsland Inc. and brings an extensive background across government, corporate, not for profit and private enterprise sectors. She most recently held the role of Senior Manager for People & Workplace Services with the Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources. Prior to this Sophie was the Business Manager for the Office of the Latrobe Valley Mine Rehabilitation Commissioner where she initially setup the office for the newly appointed Commissioner and was responsible for the monthly reporting, developing the budget, and establishment of the community engagement program.

Before this Sophie held a short tenure with Mt Baw Baw Alpine Resort as their Executive Officer where she provided support and advice to the Resort General Manager and Leadership Group in the operations and management of the resort. In this role she was accountable for identifying key issues regarding custom built software and developed a strategy to address both the short and long-term issues. Previous roles that Sophie has held include Project Manager for Federation Training, Senior Manager, Business Names – Registry Services with Australian Securities and Investment Commission, Acting Business Development Coordinator for Latrobe City Council and Director of EAT Business Group Pty Ltd.
