Trish Wilson is the University Librarian – Te Paetara at Victoria University of Wellington

Fisher Leadership was pleased to partner with Victoria University of Wellington – Te Herenga Waka in the appointment of its next University Librarian – Te Paetara.

Trish Wilson was appointed to lead the University Library’s strong contribution to academic life and student outcomes in Aotearoa New Zealand’s capital city university.  Reporting to the Provost, Trish provides strategic direction, leadership and overall management of the University Library to support the University’s strategic priorities.  This includes the effective management of library resources and providing outstanding service delivery that supports teaching, research, the student experience, and engagement with the community.

With over 22 years’ experience in library leadership, Trish was highly recommended during the search process.  An internal candidate, she had been Deputy University Librarian for over a year, with over ten years in leadership roles within the VUW Library.  Chair of the International Association of University Libraries since late 2017 and a member of the Library and Information Association of New Zealand, Trish has held earlier library positions at Massey University, the University of Melbourne and at the New Zealand Fire Services and New Zealand Treasury.
