Dean Gould is the new Chief Marketing Officer at Southern Cross University

Dean Gould is the new Chief Marketing Officer at Southern Cross University. Leading teams of up to 140, Dean has balanced budgets worth tens of millions of dollars for many years, as well as the brand and corporate reputation of media organisations across diverse Australian locations.

Dean was previously Executive Director of Corporate Affairs and Strategy with the Gold Coast Tourism Corporation, where he led the media, public relations and corporate affairs strategy and helped the organisation exceed its targets in this area. His wider role has been to raise the corporate position, reputation and influence, achieving substantial success in his first 12 months, particularly in the area of securing funding.

Dean also spent five and a half years at Griffith University as Director of Marketing and Communications and Communications Director. During this time he brokered a world-first sponsorship with the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, as well as a partnership with Brisbane Roar in the Asia Champions League Football. Prior to this he was a journalist and editor for more than 20 years in Australia, Ireland and New York.
