Mr. Michael Mitchell has been appointed to the position of Executive General Manager, Epworth Geelong with Epworth HealthCare and commenced in February 2024. In this position, Michael will be responsible for the planning, development and operational management of people, clinical care and outcomes, resources and systems across the hospital, enabling delivery of high quality, safe and evidence-based patient care.

With over 13 years of Senior Leadership experience in the Private Health Care Sector, both national and international, Michael has had a strong focus on enhancing service delivery and patient experience, combined with accelerating growth and profitability. He has a track record of delivering on operational and strategic plans and creating a supportive high performing team culture. Michael has a deep care about staff and patients, with a clear understanding of the vital service hospitals deliver.

Before joining Epworth HealthCare, Michael was the Chief Executive Officer of Gosford Private Hospital. His earlier held positions include Hospital Director of Bangkok International Hospital, General Manager of Newcastle Private Hospital and General Manager of Dubbo Private Hospital.
