The Position
The Board of Permanent Care and Adoptive Families (PCA Families) is seeking to appoint an outstanding Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to provide visionary leadership and extend the organisation’s impact. With a strong track record, PCA Families delivers peer support, therapeutic programs and advocacy informed by strong lived experience and research.
Reporting to the Board, the CEO will lead the evolution and implementation of PCA Families vision, mission and strategic directions.  Maintaining a strong public profile, the CEO will play a vital role engaging with stakeholders and members across the sector, as well as with community and government.  Supporting the Board in its governance role, the CEO will also have appropriate leadership and financial skills to effectively ensure the future success of the organisation.
You will have a genuine passion and interest in delivering effective programs and services to support strong permanent care, kinship care and adoptive families. Drawing on executive management experience, you will be an influential leader skilled in advocacy, public policy and driving key initiatives.  A demonstrated track record of leading a high-performing team, coupled with excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to initiate high-level public engagement to shape thinking will be essential. With a commitment to supporting and addressing stakeholder needs, you will have demonstrated success shaping a community focused organisation and be equipped with well-developed emotional, conceptual and business acumen.
You are hands on, driven, switched on, solution-focussed and self-reflective.  Knowledge of trauma-informed care and experience across areas such as permanent care, adoption, kinship care, out-of-home care, child protection and/or child and family services is desired.
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as social work, psychology, education or business administration is required.  It would be desirable if you also have post-graduate qualifications in social services evaluation and/or business administration.
PCA Families is a Child Safe organisation with zero tolerance of child abuse.  You will need a current working with children check and be willing to undergo police checks.

Permanent Care and Adoptive Families (PCA Families) is a not-for-profit peak body representing Victorian families formed by permanent care, kinship care, and adoption . Established by parents from this community in 2003, we continue to be guided by the lived experience of our 2,000 members. Our vision is that every child who cannot live permanently with their birth parents thrives in a strong stable permanent family.
We provide a helpline, peer support and empower members to advocate for their children and themselves. We deliver a strong voice for members, Influencing government and sector policy development.
