The Position
Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) is seeking a highly experienced leader to fill the role of Head of Education Risk and Compliance (HERC). This newly created position, based in Sydney, will lead the effective implementation of best practice governance and compliance frameworks to deliver the Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accounting and to ensure CA ANZ adheres to all relevant accreditation and regulatory requirements.
Reporting to the Head of Risk and Compliance, the HERC will proactively partner with the Group Executive of Education and Learning and be a member of the Education and Learning Leadership team, She/he will drive the preparation of high-quality governance documentation that supports the effectiveness of the Education Board. This role will also oversee the preparation and submission to all external higher education compliance reporting requirements such as the Tertiary Education and Quality Standards Authority (TEQSA); Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA); and, NEAS Education Quality Assurance.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate experience of working as a senior leader in education regulation, governance, compliance and risk management preferably in the Australian tertiary education sector. A proven working knowledge of the TEQSA Higher Education Threshold Standards is essential with superior stakeholder management and 360-degree communication skills. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative leader, proactive in building the reputation and standing of the organisation, through highly effective partnerships including at Board level, with the organisation-wide risk and compliance team and external stakeholders.
