The Australia and New Zealand School of Government (ANZSOG) is currently seeking applications from outstanding candidates for a joint appointment in either of the following positions:

  • The Western Australia (WA) Government Chair in Public Administration and Policy at Curtin University in Perth; or
  • The New Zealand Prime Minister’s ANZSOG Chair in Public Service Ethics and Integrity at Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand.

On appointment to these newly established and prestigious Chair positions, you will lead teaching, executive education, research, and stakeholder engagement activities, to improve Australia, New Zealand’s and Asia Pacific’s public sector leadership and its impact on economic and social performance. You will foster strategic public sector education and research links across these countries.
There is a significant outward facing component to these Chair positions and you will engage with senior practitioners in government and the relevant agencies, along with academics and the scholarly community nationally and internationally to promote ANZSOG and the University.
With a relevant PhD, you will hold an excellent record of international scholarly achievement and will be at the cutting-edge of research and teaching in the following disciplines; public administration, strategic public management and public policy. For the New Zealand Prime Minister’s ANZSOG Chair role it is necessary for the successful candidate to have a contemporary understanding of public service ethics and integrity and a demonstrated capacity to contribute to enhanced public sector responses to global and domestic challenges.
Bold in thinking and innovative in approach, you will demonstrate a high-level of professional and personal credibility, strong practical application and the ability to successfully develop and maintain relationships across the public and higher education sectors. Curtin University: The WA Government ANZSOG Chair in Public Administration and Policy, will be based at Curtin University in Western Australia in the Faculty of Business and Law, within the John Curtin Institute of Public Policy (JCIPP). Reference AZGwac0219.
Victoria University of Wellington: The New Zealand Prime Minister’s ANZSOG Chair in Public Service Ethics and Integrity will be based in Victoria Business School’s School of Government and will be situated directly opposite the Parliament of New Zealand. Reference AZGnzp0219.
