The Department of Premier and Cabinet is seeking expressions of interest for two independent member vacancies on its Audit and Risk Management Committee. The Committee provides independent assurance and advice to the Secretary on the effectiveness of the department’s financial management systems and controls, performance and stability, risk management and compliance with legislation.
Independent Committee members will be appointed for an initial period of up to three years after which they will be eligible for re-appointment after a formal review of their performance and independence. The Committee consists of four independent members appointed by the Secretary and meets not less than four time per annum. A Secretariat provides administration support.
Skills, knowledge, and experience are particularly sought for:

  • Finance
  • Legal/litigation

 
Ideally individuals will bring a working knowledge or understanding of public sector administration. Digital and cyber security knowledge will also be beneficial.
Essential personal attributes include integrity, objectivity, accountability, honesty, and openness, along with independence of judgment.
