The Board Opportunities
The Board of MS Limited is seeking to appoint two new Directors in 2020, as the tenure of current Directors will reach maximum terms.  The skills and experience requirements for new Directors will be matched against the need for complementarity, diversity and experience, and contribute to the strategic direction of the organisation and the achievement of the highest standards of governance.
This is a genuine opportunity for those wanting to make a difference to MS or broader neurological diseases. The organisation has gone through a renewal process and has a new 5-year strategic plan. There are growth opportunities and a broader agenda into supporting people with broader neurological conditions, aged care and wellbeing initiatives that offer a progressive and cutting-edge service response.
Experience sought includes neurological expertise, within either clinical or academic domains to add knowledge regarding the medical and research aspects of MS.  Another Director will ideally offer expertise in aged and community care and will offer a strategic lens on reviewing service delivery, programs and policy.
Board Members will have gained executive and non-executive experience within the not for profit or community services settings and ideally be graduates of AICD. Presenting as contemporary-thinkers, with high levels of commitment and collaboration, applicant Board Members will identify with the MS Limited values of respect, care, commitment and leadership and be strongly motivated to serve the interest of people affected by multiple sclerosis.  Board members participate in 11 monthly Board meetings and in addition, all Directors participate in at least one monthly Committee meeting and an annual strategy planning workshop.  It is envisaged that the two new Directors will ideally be inducted before the AGM in November.
