The Position
Hobsons Bay City Council seeks an outstanding leader who will inspire and motivate, working effectively with Councillors to achieve the city’s goals and aspirations.
Protecting and building on the positive reputation of the Council, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will lead a large service focused organisation serving a City experiencing growth and posed for strong economic development.
With exceptional senior leadership, communication and negotiation skills, combined with proven strategic, financial and people management experience, the next CEO will have personal attributes of integrity, openness, transparency, passion, resilience and courage. The new CEO will have a proven track record as a strategic thinker, change agent, and leader of strategic implementation; the ideal candidate will bring knowledge and understanding of the economic, social and governance issues relating to local government.
Committed to community engagement, and the ability to build strong relationships across the City, Council and other government sectors, the CEO will be able to engage with private and public industry to attract investment, deliver employment opportunities and ensure the ongoing sustainability of the Council. Appropriate tertiary qualifications relevant to this role are preferred.
