The position
The CEO of Solar Victoria will provide strategic leadership, financial management, governance and project delivery oversight for the nation-leading Solar Homes program. The CEO will deliver this important initiative on-time and on-budget while ensuring the highest quality outcomes and high safety standards.
Reporting to the Secretary of DELWP and accountable to the Minister for Solar Homes, the CEO will lead a vibrant team of energy sector innovators, boosting investment in renewable products and services, improving standards, and ensuring a customer-centred approach as the program is rolled out to the Victorian community. The CEO will lead the establishment of Solar Victoria.
The CEO Solar Victoria will drive the development of Victoria’s rapidly evolving renewable energy sector through this high-profile program ensuring Victorian community members can access cleaner, cheaper solar power. You will have a proven track record in leading teams to deliver complex programs and have demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, including influencing and negotiating outcomes; strong commercial acumen, strategic reform management, including risk and assurance elements; and complex program management. Relevant tertiary qualifications are essential.
The organisation
In an Australian first, the newly established Solar Victoria will deliver solar panels to 700,000 homes over the next 10 years.
This exciting, $1.34 billion program will also see solar hot water installed in 60,000 Victorian households and batteries to 10,000.
Solar Victoria will be based in Morwell with a Melbourne office presence.
This is a rare opportunity to lead a new regionally-based agency to deliver a key government program that will drive down energy costs, boost the solar industry and reduce emissions across Victorians.
