The Position
Bendigo Kangan Institute (BKI) is seeking to appoint a dynamic and collaborative Chief Learning Officer to lead the educational delivery objectives for all programs across the Institute. Central to the position will be the provision of leadership and guidance to ensure excellence in educational outcomes which will help position the Institute as a first choice in an evolving market.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and as a member of the Executive team, the Chief Learning Officer will ensure the provision of innovative learning solutions that improve quality, cost and experience for learners. The Chief Learning Officer will be a representative of the organisation and will actively engage industry partners and represent the Institute in broader vocational education, training and regulatory discussions and initiatives.
The successful candidate will have proven success in teaching and learning coupled with demonstrated achievement in large and complex organisations. Leveraging networks and establishing partnerships to enhance teaching and learning capability, you will have a consultative approach and experience in leading multi-functional teams. You will have demonstrated experience working at an executive level in the tertiary education and/or VET sector with experience in managing multiple stakeholders and successfully negotiating and developing initiatives to positively impact the organisation.
The Organisation
Bendigo Kangan Institute was established in 2014 by the merger of two TAFE institutes – Bendigo TAFE and Kangan Institute – and two related service providers – VETASSESS and eWorks. The organisation is one of Victoria’s most prominent vocational training providers.
Bendigo TAFE and Kangan Institute provide training to over 30,000 students in health and community services, environment and primary industries, hair and beauty, creative industries, trades, automotive, professional industries and foundation studies.  VETASSESS also provides over 30,000 skills assessments, while eWorks supports over 87 e-learning customers and hosts digital content used by over 115,000 users.
