The position
The Energy Group within the Department of Environment, Land, Water & Planning is seeking a committed and passionate executive leader who can sustain a high level of drive and commitment, exhibits integrity and resilience, and builds trust through consistent actions, values and communication. This position is a two-year executive contract.
The Director, Energy Programs is a critical executive position that leads a branch accountable for delivering meaningful projects and programs, and maximising benefits delivered to communities, stakeholders and government, through increased reliability, affordability and sustainability of our energy system.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Energy Projects and Programs, the position is responsible for leading a high functioning and committed team with wellbeing and support a priority. The position overseas a portfolio of  high impact programs supporting sector and business model innovation, renewable energy technology development and business and community engagement in the energy transition.
To be successful you will be a contemporary values driven leader and show strategic and operational agility; bringing big picture oversight balanced with an analytical eye for detail.  Your experience may come directly from energy markets or complex portfolio program management. You will be a systems thinker and have superior stakeholder engagement skills and commercial acumen. Project, contract, and risk management capability is essential.
