The Position
As part of its commitment to continue ensuring excellence in key issue management, government relations and the effective delivery of ministerial services, Parks Victoria seeks to appoint a talented and experienced Director Corporate Relations. This is a newly created position that reports to the CEO and will interface with high-level stakeholders across Government.
The Director Corporate Relations will provide advice and services that ensure Parks Victoria has in place a high performing ministerial communication liaison including proactive issues management.  The position will also ensure that the organisation has access to expert advice and guidance to resolve existing and emerging issues of concern to Parks Victoria, the relevant Minister/s and to the broader government agenda. A key element of the role will be to continue to build the capacity and culture of the organisation to anticipate or identify issues and best practice responses.
Equipped with extensive knowledge of the workings of Parliament, Parliamentary process and the public service in Victoria, the successful candidate will have recognised experience, capacity and success in identifying, planning and managing major issues within complex work programs as well as high level judgment in analytical problem solving and decision making. The appointee will possess exemplary engagement and stakeholder management skills, outstanding communication skills and a high level of attention to detail. Experience working in a government agency is required and an understanding of the issues facing land management agencies in Victoria is desirable.
