The Position
Korowa Anglican Girls’ School seeks to appoint an exceptional and highly experienced curriculum professional to the position of Director of Learning and Teaching.  This is a new position at Korowa, created to ensure the School is focussed on inspiring a culture of high educational standards and a commitment to continuous improvement through research, evidence-based practice, consultation and sharing of knowledge.
The Director will liaise closely with the Principal, Deputy Principal, Heads of Schools, Heads of Department, Year Level Coordinators on all learning and teaching matters, student academic growth, wellbeing and social and emotional learning.  Key to success will be an understanding of the social and emotional context in relation to curriculum and professional development.  With the ability to influence widely, the Director will focus on core principles of learning and teaching and will be able to measure the impact of learning and teaching strategies and actions through academic outcomes.
The successful candidate will possess deep knowledge and experience within curriculum and contemporary learning across the breadth of Prep to Year 12.  It will be essential that the appointee understands and utilises data, operating primarily from an evidence-based standpoint.  Presenting with an inspiring style and innovative approach, the appointee will have a natural ability to engage with and influence at all levels.  It is expected the appointee will have gained experience throughout the breadth of the school environment and will bring a holistic approach to teaching and learning and wellbeing.  The appointee will be an open-minded leader who is able to take appropriate risks and foster the development of new directions while supporting the required changes in a considered and encouraging manner.
