Director of Procurement and Supplier Management

The Position
Following a recent review and transformation of the Procurement and Supplier Management function, Lifeblood is seeking to appoint a contemporary Director to lead and advance the execution of the strategy to deliver the right consumables and services at the right time, to the right place, and at the most economical cost.
With a Consumables Supply Chain roadmap developed and largely implemented over the past 12 months, the Director Procurement and Supplier Management will hold responsibility for:

• leading the team in line with the Lifeblood cultural values,
• providing governance and actively partnering to advance corporate health and mitigate risk,
• building the capability to ensure the full implementation and sustainability of the roadmap, and
• pursuing a continuous improvement mindset within the team.

 
Embedded within this, the Director is accountable for the leadership of the change-management process, helping drive user buy-in and making certain that proper vendor support, adequate training, and other resources are in place.
To achieve this Lifeblood is seeking a results-oriented and metrics driven leader with a contemporary management style who has senior management experience in a modern Procurement and Supply Chain environment, including strategic category management and the application of cost management principles. A commercial orientation combined with some experience operating in a government funded environment will be advantageous along with a commitment to excellence in the sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and ethics of procurement.
A proven track record of leading the development or management of large scale and commercially complex projects (including ERP) combined with success in building and inspiring high performing teams will be essential. Candidates from fast paced environments will be well suited to this position with sectors such as Pharmaceutical, Retail, FMCG and Manufacturing providing an excellent background.
