The Magistrates’ Court of Victoria (MCV) is seeking to appoint an outstanding Executive Director, People and Culture to contribute to formulating and driving the strategic direction of the organisation. People and Culture priorities include developing and strengthening the workforce to meet the demands of a significant transformation agenda and future ways of working, while maintaining focus and commitment to improve judicial officer and staff health and wellbeing.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Director, People and Culture provides leadership to the functions that support the employment life cycle of staff. Current functions include Learning and Development, People Services (including Employee and Industrial Relations), and Occupational Health, Safety and Wellbeing. Positioned on the Executive Leadership Group, the role provides expert advice and counsel advice to the CEO, Executive Group, judiciary and key external stakeholders on the direction and performance of the workforce.

The successful candidate will bring demonstrated experience in successfully driving organisation and cultural change in a large, sensitive, and complex service delivery environment. This position requires a contemporary human resource leader with superior influencing and communication skills, industrial relations know how and a refined partnership approach. A relevant tertiary and post graduate qualification in a related field is highly desirable.
