The Position
Ingham Institute of Medical Research is a not-for-profit organisation located in Sydney’s South West, conducting world class medical research, driven by the needs of the local community and wider Australia. Housed in a state of the art, purpose-built research facility, on the northern edge of the Liverpool Hospital campus, the Institute is currently under expansion and by 2025 will be a multi-centred Institute across three campuses.
The facilities Manager will be responsible for managing the Liverpool facility and the built environment. The Manager will actively manage service arrangements to enable the facility to function effectively and to the expectations of research teams and operational requirements. Reporting to the COO, the Manager will establish and build on current processes and systems and play an active role in future planning or maintenance/replacement of equipment, ensuring the smooth operations of the Institute.
As an experienced facility Manager, within a Medical Research Institute or health/university sector facility, the successful candidate will ideally have a background in engineering and /or science, with the ability to build strong relationships both across the institute and external environment. With a transition to a new building in the near future, the Manager will be highly organised with the ability to solve problems, work within tight timeframes and contribute beyond the portfolio when required. This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic, complex scientific research environment.
