The Position
The General Manager is a key role within the organisation, providing daily operational support to a diverse range of stakeholders. Leading and guiding operational support staff and working closely with experienced leaders within general operations, ICT, Finance, Recruiting, HR and Marketing teams, the General Manager is a critical touchpoint position for a significant sized workforce, that is geographically dispersed across three states.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the General Manager will lead well established and experienced teams across the 13 locations, whilst building trusted, collaborative relationships with the diverse workforce that includes 170 consulting doctors, 180 support staff and 70 allied healthcare providers. The General Manager will ensure the operations of the Medical Centres are continuing to deliver a high quality and efficient service.
The successful candidate will be an experienced operational leader with strong stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.  The General Manager will be a confident and resilient people leader with a high attention to detail and well-developed organisational skills.  The ability to influence, respond and problem solve to meet the needs of the business will be important to the success of this role.   The General Manager will be a visible leader across the organisation, and someone who enjoys working with very committed teams in an energetic and dynamic environment.  The position will be based in South Melbourne although weekly travel across the sites will be required.  Experience in the management of business operations of medical centres or similar health based organisations is essential, as is knowledge and experience in organisational effectiveness and business and management principles and practices.
