The Position
Calvary is seeking to appoint a General Manager (GM) to lead and manage the operations of Calvary Launceston, including the private hospitals of St Luke’s and St Vincent’s.  The GM will be responsible for ensuring an effective and efficient provision of coordinated, safe, high quality health care in accordance with the Calvary strategic direction, objectives, policies and plans.
Reporting to the Victorian/Tasmania Regional CEO and as a member of the senior executive team, the GM is accountable for operational and financial performance and the continuous improvement of services in the Hospitals.
Based in Launceston across two sites, this is a highly visible community role.  The ideal candidate will be tertiary qualified with a successful track record of strategic leadership and operational management experience, preferably gained in the management of a large acute healthcare facility or tertiary health service.  To foster and sustain the culture of exceptional care, the GM will have a strong commitment to the philosophy and mission of Calvary and be capable of balancing that with driving operational outcomes.
Calvary is working towards a more integrated model across the organisation and the new GM will need to be highly skilled in stakeholder management combined with a track record of leading transformation while motivating and developing staff in a complex environment.  Outstanding interpersonal skills, commercial acumen, innovative thinking, decisiveness, judgement, and a strong value set will be key to success in this position.
