The Position
The City of Port Phillip is seeking a General Manager, Community & Economic Development (GM) to lead and sponsor key strategies in the Council plan and deliver quality services for the Port Phillip community.
As member of the Executive Leadership Team, the GM will play a key organisational leadership role with accountability for the Community and Economic Development Services division, including the functional areas of Cultural and Economic Development; Future Communities; Family, Youth & Children; and Diversity & Inclusion, as well as provide executive sponsorship of significant annual projects.
Key to success will be a driven leader who is visionary, strategically agile, innovative and entrepreneurial. Applicants need to show a proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and develop a strong performance culture.
The Organisation
Formed in the early 1990s, the City of Port Phillip is located south of Melbourne’s city centre on the northern shore of Port Phillip Bay. With nearly three million visitors each year, the City offers vibrant villages, beautiful beaches and local festivals, making it one of the most visited places in metropolitan Melbourne.
