The Position
The Head of People and Culture is a senior executive position within the VicRoads Joint Venture (JV) and is accountable for developing and driving contemporary people and culture vision and programs. Reporting to the Chief of Corporate Services and Risk, the role is responsible for delivering and fostering an organisational culture of high-performance and inclusiveness.
The role leads a professional team of human resources, learning and development, and health, safety and wellbeing professionals. Responsible for identifying and developing high quality initiatives, this role will position the organisation as an employer of choice.
Holding accountability for shaping the organisational development agenda during a period of change, this key opportunity will deliver modern capability initiatives including leadership development, team development and business skills programs. Additionally, the role will be responsible for managing key stakeholder relationships internally and externally (unions, government counterparts etc.) to ensure industrial and legal obligations are met aligned with organisational values.
You will be an accomplished senior executive with a track record of proactive and influential People and Culture outcomes in complex organisational environments. Industrial relations and change management expertise is required, and your key leadership attributes will include expert trusted advice, influence and persuasion, stewardship, superior stakeholder management and communications skills. You will have a reputation for the highest standards of integrity as well as the ability to identify and address emerging issues and deliver positive and innovative solutions.
 
The Organisation
VicRoads is responsible for licensing approximately five million drivers in Victoria, and registering more than six million cars, motorcycles, heavy vehicles and trailers for the Victorian road network.
The Victorian Government has made an in-principle decision to progress a joint venture model for VicRoads Registration & Licensing, and Custom Plates. The purpose of a joint venture is to modernise a number of VicRoads services to make them more user friendly for motorists and deliver value for money for Victorians.
This is an exciting opportunity to ensure registration and licencing as well as customer plate products and services will be simple, accessible, fast and convenient, ensuring the government delivers contemporary digital systems to all VicRoads customers, industry partners and stakeholders.
