The University of Southern Queensland (USQ) seeks an outstanding individual to lead the newly-created School of Agriculture and Environmental Science in the Faculty of Health, Engineering and Sciences.
Reporting to, and working closely with, the Executive Dean, the Head of School will build the presence and visibility of agriculture, agricultural science and environmental science at the University, raising the profile of the disciplines.  The appointee will be expected to bring together a team of high performing researchers and teachers, inspiring a cohesive and multi-disciplinary team and building its capacity.
The ideal candidate will be a collegiate leader with superlative communication and influencing skills, able to foster relationships with diverse stakeholder groups, including industry, research partners, schools and the community.  With a strong track record in academic leadership, the Head of School will demonstrate scholarly success in a relevant discipline.  Outstanding strategic and leadership skills will be essential, with the ability to develop and communicate a vision, building and uniting interdisciplinary teams, managing resources and promoting the profile of the School and the University more broadly, particularly at its intersection with regional Australia.  A PhD in a relevant discipline is essential.
This role is based in Toowoomba, with regular travel required between USQ’s campuses.
