The Position
The Manager People and Performance provides Human Resources (HR) strategy and operational leadership across this community focused organisation. Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer and senior staff, you will contribute to finding best fit solutions across the full range of workforce matters. The role is the organisation’s key expert HR adviser and operates with a high degree of autonomy.
Reporting to the Director, Corporate Services, the position leads a small team of specialists responsible for the day-to-day delivery of people services that are responsive to business needs. This is an excellent opportunity to join a future focused organisation, which values its people and has an ongoing commitment to its customers.
You will bring a track record of achievement across the HR discipline and have a positive ‘can-do’ attitude. You will have a reputation as a resilient team player with employee relations and commercial savvy. You will have depth in leading cultural change and developing business improvement initiatives, coupled with the ability to communicate well with people at all levels. Relevant tertiary qualifications are expected.
The Organisation
Horsham is a lively city with a population of about 14,000 people and our municipality has another 6,000 residents further afield. We are centrally located in the Wimmera and nestled close to the Grampians National Park and the rock climbing mecca, Mt Arapiles, near Natimuk. Horsham offers excellent shopping, dining, entertainment, accommodation and sporting facilities. Council has a large budget and employs around 240 people.
