The Position
The Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership’s mission is to promote excellence so that teachers and leaders have the maximum impact on learning in all Australian schools and early childhood settings.  To support this mission AITSL is committed to developing and supporting our people.  This will involve leading change and providing strategic and operational human resources support that aligns to the current and long-term needs of the organisation.
Reporting into the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, this position has responsibility for all people service and organisational development functions including creating a positive culture, performance and development, recruitment and selection, policy development, and management of human resource metrics.  A key focus of this role will be to foster collaborative working relationships with stakeholders to build capability and create value whilst supporting the company’s objectives.
The successful candidate will be a dynamic, contemporary HR professional, capable of managing a complex change agenda to support the organisation’s key areas of operation.  With demonstrated experience, strong policy development and analytical skills, the appointee will possess values that align with the organisation and a willingness to commit to AITSL’s vision, mission and values.  Appropriate tertiary qualifications are required.
The Organisation
AITSL is a national body established by the Australian Government to promote excellence in the profession of teaching and school leadership.  Located in Melbourne, the organisation plays a key role in leading significant national educational reform.  AITSL is part of, and operates within, the national education architecture and has a national remit to work with the education community in all states and territories, systems and sectors.
