The position
VETASSESS continues to be the benchmark organisation in skills assessment and recognition.  The pivotal role of Manager, Skills Recognition provides leadership, management and governance of the organisation’s skills recognition services, including national skills assessment for trades positions, the Job Ready program and Early Childhood Teacher validation.
Reporting to the Executive Director VETASSESS, and with five direct reports in assessment services and assessment quality, this role is responsible for the quality of the skills recognition services provided, improving work processes and workflow to drive efficiencies.  Expertly managing a range of stakeholders is a key facet of this role.
The successful candidate will leverage their extensive experience in vocational education and training.  With a high level of knowledge of competency standards and qualification structures, in addition to the key issues, trends and development of Australia’s skilled migration program, this role requires a capacity to manage and evaluate the operations of competency assessment standards.  With strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities, the appointee will be customer-focussed, with commercial acumen and the ability to manage change effectively.  A tertiary qualification at postgraduate level will be highly regarded.
