The Organisation
Kamaruka Education Centre (Kamaruka) was founded in 2001 to cater for a unique group of boys whose needs could not be accommodated in the mainstream classroom. Kamaruka offers an alternative academic curriculum for Years 3 to 10 that helps build the student’s relationships, self-esteem and social awareness so that they can transition back into mainstream school or further training at TAFE.
After originally commencing at a campus in Richmond with a cohort of up to 20 students, the school has grown in response to its offering and relocated to what is now two premises in South Yarra supporting students from Year 3 to 10.
