The Position
The Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions is building on rural and regional Victoria’s existing strengths as communities and economies continually change and grow. The Barwon South West region has a strong health and professional services sector; a thriving agriculture/primary industry sector; a longstanding manufacturing and engineering base and a reputation for excellence in education.
This Regional Director role will collaborate with communities, industry, businesses and government to address the most important challenges and opportunities in Barwon South West. Key to success is driving tangible outcomes in job creation, infrastructure, regional planning, resource development and investment attraction. The position is responsible for leading a high performing team and providing senior representation of government in the region.
The successful candidate will have a track record of values-based leadership and delivery of solutions and outcomes in a complex setting. Superior interpersonal and communication skills coupled with influence and initiative demonstrated at senior level will be essential. You will bring a reputation of successful collaboration, brokering and partnership development. A background in economic development, infrastructure or complex project development is ideal as well as working knowledge of the public sector.
