The Position
Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ) seeks to appoint a strategic and commercially astute leader as Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner – South Asia to identify and embrace emerging opportunities with India and the broader South Asia region that will lead to enhanced prosperity for the state.
The Commissioner will be based in Bengaluru, India, to lead TIQ business across South Asia.  They will be responsible for managing the development of market strategies that drive trade and investment growth for Queensland in established and emerging markets across the region. Elevating Queensland’s profile in the market, developing market intelligence and fostering enduring relationships are key elements of the role.
The successful candidate will be a dynamic executive with outstanding communication and people skills who has led high-performing small teams and has experience across the Public and Private sectors. Equipped with a strong understanding of India, the appointee will be a champion of innovative ideas, have the ability to implement strategy to ensure positive client outcomes, and will evidence a pragmatic approach to delivering services. High-level written and spoken English is essential.
This is a locally engaged position and the successful candidate must have work rights for India.
