  • Identify community needs and aspirations
  • Lead the co-design and delivery of responsive programs, services and partnerships
  • Drive social impact in home, education and workplace settings

The Position
The prominent mental health and suicide prevention organisation, Beyond Blue, seeks to appoint a highly collaborative and insightful individual to become its new Chief Community Officer (CCO). This newly created position within a redesigned executive team will lead the co-design, development, implementation and evaluation of integrated Beyond Blue programs, services, supports and partnerships that respond to community needs and address gaps within the areas of Wellness and Prevention and Community and Participation.
Reporting to the CEO, the CCO will lead a team to embed community intimacy design principles by identifying and responding to community needs and aspirations in home, education and workplace settings, and through a range of community engagement, participation and fundraising activities. A critical element of this role is the development of partnerships that benefit the community.
The CCO will be equipped with an excellent track record of identifying and nurturing partnerships, in community engagement, diversity and inclusion, and in adapting service models and strategic priorities to better respond to community needs and expectations. The appointee will also have exemplary leadership, influencing and negotiating skills, a track record in income generation and diversification and will thrive in an environment of continuous improvement. A tertiary qualification in management, health, social sciences or a related discipline is required.
The Organisation
Beyond Blue is Australia’s most well-known and visited mental health organisation focusing on improving the lives of individuals, families and communities affected by anxiety, depression and suicide. Millions of people and organisations connect with Beyond Blue’s advice, information, services and supports each year. With that comes a responsibility to deeply understand and meet their needs.
Beyond Blue’s new strategic plan, Beyond 2020, embraces this ‘community intimacy’ principle, and to underpin it, the organisation is implementing a new operating model that includes changes to organisational structures, governance, processes and systems, culture, metrics, data and technology. This is an exciting time to join a responsive and revered organisation that values collaboration, enthusiasm, innovation, respect, excellence and integrity and help it to be even stronger for the community for years to come.
