The Position
This pivotal role of Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) drives the development, implementation and execution of Beyond Blue’s 2020-2023 community-centred strategy, business planning and associated organisational development activities.  Contributing to a culture of innovation and the achievement of performance across all areas of the organisation, this critical role provides leadership of Research and Policy Advocacy, Strategic Communications and Government Relations divisions.
Reporting to the CEO and within a redesigned executive team, the CSO leads policy advocacy strategies (including policy responses and submissions to inquiries) and manages the overarching relationships and contracts with Government.  The CSO will build effective relationships with a range of partners and advocate for future initiatives and opportunities in the mental health ecosystem.

With a commercial mindset and demonstrated experience operating within a national context, the ideal candidate will be recognised as lead strategist and collaborator.  Presenting with highly developed communication, influencing and negotiation skills, the successful candidate will possess the natural capacity to collaborate and build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and community groups. Tertiary qualifications are essential and experience outside of the health sector is welcomed.
The Organisation

Millions of people and organisations connect with Beyond Blue’s advice, information, services and supports each year. With that comes a responsibility to deeply understand and meet their needs
Beyond Blue’s new strategic plan, Beyond 2020, embraces this ‘community intimacy’ principle, and to underpin it, the organisation is implementing a new operating model that includes changes to organisational structures, governance, processes and systems, culture, metrics, data and technology. This is an exciting time to join a responsive and revered organisation that values collaboration, enthusiasm, innovation, respect, excellence and integrity and help it to be even stronger for the community for years to come.
